The chances that Robert Jenrick *literally* went to "more than a few football matches in the away end" at Villa Park *in the 1980s* (ie, before his 8th birthday on 8.1.1990) are vanishingly small to non-existent. (He may have been in the away end at Villa Park as a child or teenager in the 1990s)

I've got a lot of books on my Kindle and I realised recently that theoretically although I've given Amazon my actual cash for this I don't really 'own' the books. Yes, I'm an idiot. But I'm happy to let them have all the books back if they'll refund me all the money I spent.

I need to watch more Danny Glover films. I think this and Lethal Weapon don't really do him justice. He's clearly one of the better actors to do an 80s/90s action franchise.

I'm going to say it. I think Predator 2 is better than Predator. Danny Glover is such a solid lead. Predator is more quotable but Predator 2 is top notch.

I also realised, thanks to @johnrain.co.uk & @tobyhadoke.bsky.social on Smershpod that I somehow skipped Quatermass 2 on my Hammer watch along. I skipped ahead to 'The Old Dark House' (1963) because I stumbled across it on YouTube and thought 'sod it, I'll watch this now before it gets taken down.'

Well, 'The Old Dark House' (1963) was fun. Sort of Scooby Doo meets Carry on Screaming. It doesn't have a great deal in common with the 1932 version, which features some terrible acting but a great Karloff performance. What a cast though.

I think how weird that must have been. I mean wouldn't it have taken you back to that event. Or as an actor do you just shrug it off like any other part. See also Richard Todd playing his commanding officer in 'The Longest Day' and having another actor play Richard Todd. 2/2
