It brings me such joy that we (totally unintentionally) published this on Chris Carter's birthday.

Happy birthday, Chris Carter.

You know what you did.

Happy Columbo’s Day
Screenshot from Columbo. He his talking to his dog, which is sitting is the drivers seat of a car. “Okay, I’m gonna put you in charge. You take care of the car. You’re a responsible dog. When I get back, if the car’s okay, I’ll give you another cookie.” “If the car’s gone,” “I’ll give you another cookie anyway” “because I love you.”

There is a local hospital system here that does a gun safety PSA with the tag line “kids are safe when a gun is locked in one” and I just want to say that it’s important to hire good copywriters

"You have enslaved him. You have placed Fester under some strange sexual spell. I respect that. But please… You have gone too far. You have married Fester, you have destroyed his spirit, you have taken him from us. All that I could forgive. But, Debbie…pastels?"

White people who have spent decades thinking “Born in the USA” is patriotic and “Every Breath You Take” is a great wedding song are suddenly very concerned about not being able to understand lyrics to some songs at the Super Bowl halftime show.

I have been *obsessed* with this for so long. It is my white whale. Someone once told me he might have a DVD of it in a box somewhere and I have been remarkably good about only bringing it up to him once a year or so. If anyone has even the slightest lead on it, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

By the way: Isn't it time somebody released (or leaked) Tilda, the HBO pilot that starred Diane Keaton as a Nikki Finke-like gossip columnist? Also with, I believe, Elliot Page, Wes Bentley, Jason Patric, Sanaa Lathan. 2011, many cooks inc. Bill Condon, at least two versions.

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.
