Walking into a Republican's office in 2025.
Damn. I was hoping it was just an internet rumor.
Completed 58 years of living today.
The term leader is used very, very loosely here.
You and the majority of Democrats in DC are feckless! All talk but no substantial action. Please step down and let a true leader take your place.
Thankfully he told me to check them out when they were in print!
I LOVED the history lesson in the beginning. Thanks for including that. I wasn't too familiar with the Legion and then a friend convinced me to check out the Legion archives that featured Cockrum and Grell. I was hooked and read everything then. I made sure to intro him to this podcast.
Another great episode! RE: the Doctor Mid-Nite scene. I did read that as the nurse was his partner. Nurses typically don't call doctors by their first name.
Doctor I trust more than RFK Jr.
This is probably my favorite comics podcast. And they focused on two of my faves recently: the Spectre and Wildcat.
New JSA IN THE 90s PODCAST now available! Stella & Shag present a spotlight on TED GRANT WILDCAT! We discuss Wildcat's significant appearances across the 1990s, with special focus on BATMAN/WILDCAT (1997) #1-3 and CATWOMAN/WILDCAT (1998) #1-4!

Was binging @outcasters.bsky.social and almost up to date there. I just started the Long Live the Legion podcast. I've come to realize when it comes to comic podcasts, I like the hosts to place things in a historical context not just view with modern standards.

Recently did a focus on Jim Aparo on my Tumblr. Yes, I still post there. I was really impressed with his work at Charlton.
Jim Aparo's art from the origin of Nightshade in Captain Atom 86. Written by Dave Kaler and published by Charlton Comics. Nightshade is practicing judo before switching to her identity of Eve Eden.

Haven't actually been to a lot but have seen a LOT of acts because of the Ozzfests. Especially '98, as it met up with the Vans Warped Tour.
I really enjoyed the latest Superman movie EXCEPT the characterization of Jimmy Olsen. #superman #jimmyolsen #jamesgunn #dccomics

Real discussion:
CNN: Hey Dave it's CNN. Could you come on to talk about the death of Hulk Hogan

Me: Hulk Hogan was a racist scab and a liar. He hated unions, Black people, and the truth and that's why he loved Donald Trump. What time do you want me?

CNN: Great! Well.... so we'll keep looking
Uncle Sam, where is you? From Uncle Sam Quarterly 01. Art by Dan Zolnerowich. #goldenagecomics #qualitycomics #unclesam #democracy #comicbooks
Three panels from golden age comic book Uncle Sam Quarterly number 1. Uncle Sam and Buddy have a conversation culminating with Uncle Sam declaring, "Dictator! No man will ever be dictator of this land! Come on, Kids...we've got work to do!"
The reason why there was a similar split within the group. I forget what she wrote exactly but I remember thinking that's not accurate.
But her few lines on ACT UP/SF are not accurate.
It needs to be required reading for activists.
