This is our first election after the switch to a “strong mayor” form of government (a campaign that was funded 100% by Jonathan Weinhagen at the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, never forget). It’s time for a leader who lives up to the strong mayor title.

This makes me feel like an old man to say — my first choice for mayor is about character and integrity. We need a mayor who inspires trust, someone who can unite the city in hard times. Frey’s lack of any endorsements from Hennepin County commissioners and state legislators representing Minneapolis is telling. The political dynamic that exists among city leaders is not an “everyone else” problem. It’s a Frey problem. It’s time for a fresh start.

New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

1. This is a fake problem. There aren't any trans women in NWSL. There aren't any trans women in the immediate pipeline that I'm aware of.

Now that it's no longer my job to do so, I generally try to keep my nose out of St. Paul politics. But voting Yes on Q1 is extremely important for that city. Administrative citations are basically the only tool short of criminal charges or expensive litigation a city can use against bad actors.
