Unrelatedly, I have a heavy suspicion that some current children's books are very close to fetish content, but whether or not the creators are aware of this depends on if they have ever spent time on Furaffinity.

I am not naming it, I crave peace and do not think it's in any way grooming/dangerous

It honestly feels so rare to get a book where you go "Ooh, the editing!" but it felt like a lovingly arranged tracklist, where the editors wanted to bring the best out of the great writing. Absolutely recommend tracking it down, it has everything from anime homages to dream-visions.

Just finished the Blaft Book of Anti-Caste SF and it is probably one of the best collections I've ever read. The stories and comics are all fantastic, and it was edited like a great compilation album - everything flowed, everything worked together, it all just *worked*.

One of the things about this study is that a lot of baby and toddler books are written in house, by editors. So the study reveals the whiteness of editorial in kidlit even if not explicitly.
