I can’t get over that Guardian article about Chatfishing. These people are the blandest and most vapid people around. Holy shit just google it and think about something.

The biggest problem is that many of the pedestrian bridges there were designed by assholes and have stairs instead of a ramp.
Obviously, there is always room for improvement. It's definitely possible to design pedestrian and transit infrastructure with disabled people in mind.

The main problem with cars is how much they spread everything out.
In cities like Venice, which were built for pedestrians, everything is within 1.5 miles of the city center. Even for chair or scooter users, this isn't too painful.

I know quite a bit about this.
My wife works in a wheelchair clinic (she fits all types of mobility aids, not just chairs).
One of the biggest barriers to wheelchair users is cars. Subways and light rail are certainly imperfect, but they have or can be made with level boarding.

RFK fired the CDC official (w/decades of experience) leading the measles outbreak response. It's been decades since we've had such a large outbreak. And just to ensure they they can spread the measles outbreak even farther, they also fired the leadership for the center focused on immunization.
