Radical liberal, world federalist, lesbian zoomer. Big fan of worldbuilding, alt-hist and shitposting (see rest of bio). Liberal revanchist. Palingenetic ultraglobalist. Girlcoded Italian futurist. I will glorify diversity: the world's only hygiene.

In the most charitable possible interpretation of his past and his intentions, Graham Platner is a decent fellow who has taken an ideological journey roughly as erratic as a 16-year-old r/polcompball user. This is not someone with enough reliability to be seriously considered for political office.

Yeah and even if you accept that he's genuinely changed, it doesn't bode well for his reliability. A man who went from racist edgelord (at best) to communist to populist Democrat within such a short time span as an adult? We can't be sure he'll maintain those views for his term
Obviously I still think we should go full steam ahead with the Dem Tea Party, but I hope people are appropriately chastened by this experience. By making the necessary change in approach, we increase the risk of candidates like Platner. So we should stay vigilant and maintain basic moral standards.
It's quite common parlance here, even if the comparison isn't one-to-one; the idea is to primary the more conciliatory Democrats and replace them with politicians more willing to confront the GOP and fight for a bold reconstruction
Selling tech acceleration to a Blue Labour politician: "okay, so imagine brutalising a migrant..."
>wants Britain to be a leader in tech
>boldest thing he can think of is using drones to be racist

Innovative. Visionary. Groundbreaking. I kneel before the mind of this man.

I think Platner can still turn this around if he moves to Idaho, where his glaring weakness turns into a strength

Also the jury is out on what kind of word he puts before the word 'socialist'
Graham Platner might have become a socialist later on, but he was bearing red flags long before
Just took a look at his page and very thankful that I was blocked from seeing the rest of whatever this post was
Do you have the name of the article? I can't remember and I'm just going off dim memories from a few years ago
Wondering when one of these reactionaries is going to cook up a fascist Posadism that calls for triggering a nuclear war to destroy urban centres and bring about the dominance of traditionalist pastoralism

Would be funny if they still believed in elections and did it just to change the electorate
A lot of these people are just racist first, and create the reasons later. Because if you were actually someone who believed that supposed racial IQ differences created a hierarchy of value, then logically you must accept that intelligence is the core thing rather than a persons race. But they don't
There was a white nationalist who moved to the rural midwest because it's white but became dissatisfied because they wanted to fish instead of join his movement and didn't have the 'Imperial will to power' or some shit. In the end he moved back to the city because at least that has imperial grandeur
Yeah like that's the kind of thing which goes beyond just bad politics and towards a kind of mindset that doesn't go away with a mere political conversion. Like, I'm not saying you can't change your mind from that, but a change in politics is not indicative of such a thing
No actually this works perfectly if you run them in Idaho, we just have to helicopter Platner across the country
The whole internet loves buff white populist, who combines left wing ideas with masculine aesthetics prized among reactionaries!

*5 seconds later* we regret to inform you the populist has a totenkopf tattoo
chat it doesn't look good
As well as indicating bad politics, what he said about war indicates bad character. I'm willing to concede that he has moved past that politics, but has he moved past those vices? And given how erratic his political journey has been, how do we know he won't have another big 'revelation'?
I think we have to seize the social media algorithms and run this dynamic in reverse once we get power. There will be no successful reconstruction without buy-in from elites, and this is a proven way to manufacture that. It's our best chance to build hegemonic wokeism
Joker voice: "you wanna know how I got these scores?"
It's spelled Sliwa? What the fuck??? This whole time I thought it was Silwa and had been mentally pronouncing it as such
