Trade routes through the Tizrou Desert, otherwise known as the Barrens, requires prominent markers to avoid being masked by sand storms. Thus, many routes of travel are marked with towering spires lit at the top by constantly burning ores.

In paddlepod, the object is to score goals by kicking or throwing the ball through the opponent's net. While offensive teams have *some* success, the best teams prioritize stout defense, using their defensemen as secondary goalies.

The fish-like Vesikoi tribe are inspired by the nereids, sea nymphs of Greek mythology. The gills on their sides allow them to breathe underwater with ease.

Fullbloods exude a thin layer of mucus over their skin to retain moisture & while mixbloods don't, their skin often feels cool to the touch.

Amaro serves as the main obstacle for Zelora, sending his hired thugs out to kill her and retrieve the coin he lost.

A smaller obstacle at first is Zelora & Cedari’s personality differences, causing them to butt heads early on.

In paddlepod, teams wear protective padding under their uniforms, though goalies usually wear thicker pads and wide-visored helmets.

A small ball about the size of a cantaloupe is used, along with a goal fashioned from an elevated net.

In Tail-Wing Trackers, Veldandi is the eldest of 4 children, her younger siblings being Tyrhelm, Rowan, & Cordelia.

The Travaldi siblings are routinely quite shocked there’s not *more* of them, considering their parents remain amorous well into their 40s & 50s! 🤣🫣

Paddlepod is one of the most popular team sports on Nixtral. Combining elements of hockey, lacrosse, & soccer, it pits 2 6-person teams against each other in an effort to score the most goals in 2 30-minute halves.

Today I tried making a recipe found in one of my books! Dimlox is a dish native to the eastern continent, Uzura, with a grilled fish fillet smothered in a mushroom cream sauce & served on a bed of seasoned rice.

It actually came out quite good for my 1st attempt! 😋
