Additionally, his difficulty with Eorzean is completely in his head, with the Echo and all. He thinks it only works for fancy things like Dragons and Primals, so he's completely brainwashed himself into learning languages the hard way.

Lavanda speaks the various dialects of the Steppe, Doman, Hingan, and Eorzean. Eorzean is generally difficult for him, so he still sometimes gets phrases wrong. He can't read any of them, though.

Oh it's 1000% him being polyamorous. People would call him a manwhore so fast.

I feel like a legitimate problematic trait for Lavanda, though, is that he is completely convinced he can do everything for anyone to help, and a lot of times he accidentally invalidates them and their own skills.
