To be fair, I think steam does recognise and try to solve this. Tags, more like this, fests, seperating out recent reviews, free key reviews, curators (which failed), community stuff. That said, it still doesn't work, and their 30% cut has probably killed many indie companies.

I didn't see this! I did suspect that once AI companies realise users aren't dumb enough to be monetised, they'd go the youtube route and try to strike advertiser-type deals with companies who are.
