I like things such as video games and music. I will post about those things. It will be fun. I write about games here: www.talontrotgames.com

Hello! I'm Chris. My post splits here are probably 65/30/5 for videogames/music/other.

I play an even split of retro and modern games, lately with a lean towards JRPGs, platformers, and Metroidvanias. Nintendo and PS, mostly.

My musical tastes mostly fit neatly under the indie rock genre.
Yes! Very nice article, I definitely agree with your criteria!
Absolutely! I think criticism is valid and valuable, but letting people who don't care about the criticism have fun!
Whoa!!! That's wild! Let me know when you get 46 so I can too 🤣🤣

I think Celeste and Sifu are the two most difficult I have achieved.

Agree about the first party games, they are typically quite nice and not overly demanding.
The only opinion I have on the new Pokemon game is that my 9yo is absolutely loving every second of it. He's rarely *this* hooked on a game, he's already up to "B."

So, Pokemon Legends Z-A is a good game in my book!
I was briefly hooked on platinum trophies but have since taken a more casual approach. I think there are some very good platinum trophies out there, so I wrote about a few of my favorites.

Platinum trophies run a wide range of quality, I picked out a few of my favorites.

Tried the first/tutorial level of Ninja Gaiden 4. I've never played a 3D Ninja Gaiden and my only PlatinumGames experience was MetalGearRising.

This seems fine. I'm not at all blown away by it, but certainly enough to bring me back to see how it adds to the basics.
I didn't spend too long with it, but enjoyed what I did see. The between run stuff seems like it might be fun too, although I didn't dig in much at all there.

Fun mash up of mechanics, excited to see more.
BALL X PIT showed up on GamePass. It looked fun, so I gave it a try.

It's basically an auto scrolling Space Invaders with Vampire Survivor-like upgrades.

Really interesting concept and seems to be well made. I had a good time.
Seeing so many of my favorite games on this makes me think I should absolutely try many or all of the ones I've not played!
I missed both THUG games originally. Finally caught up with the first last year, excited to try the second!
I was out of town so naturally I stopped by a video game store over the weekend and grabbed a few games that certain people seem to absolutely love but I've never played and don't really know much about (except THUG2, I know what to expect there).

#PS1 #PS2
I would not argue with anyone who says this is their best album. The run of this, Strawberry Jam and MPP is among the very best of the era.

Good day to give Feels a listen.
RayStorm is not my favorite SHMUPS I've played, but I think it fits a fun niche in the genre with its demanding lock on targeting system.

My review of the #PS1 title:

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on PS1.

Based on a short lived TV series, it's a weird mix of Crash Bandicoot clone and a racing game. It is truly unique in how weird and bad it is, but there were still a few moments of fun.
What's the worst game you finished/rolled credits on?

(games media folks, it can't be something you were assigned to review; this has to be something you subjected yourself to of your own free will)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz

Either my favorite or second favorite YYY album, depending on when you ask.

Saga of the Moon Priestess might be the perfect quick binge game you've been looking for. That is, if you want a heavy does of streamlined ALttP gameplay wrapped in big, chunky pixel art.

It hits so many high notes of the genre and is done in under 4 hours.

A retro-inspired top-down action adventure game, Saga of the Moon Priestess is a great bite-sized take on the genre.

Having our mind blown when playing a group of friends across the dorm hall for the first time. The first time we played Sidewinder with them they threw the flag through the gate and we couldn't figure out how they scored so quickly.

Lots of great LAN party fun!

My problem in Final Fantasy Tactics is that I want to max out every job and character so I end up spending hours and hours doing optional battles before advancing one story beat.

Wait, that's not a problem, that's actually good and fun. What a great game!
Cleaned it and tried again. It's officially dead.

I've had incredible luck with buying retro games online, I've only had three or four games end up not working.

I saw enough of Threads of Fate to know that it is absolutely a game I'd be into, so I'll hunt for another copy once I get this returned.
Bad news, everyone. This copy of Threads of Fate #PS1 fails to load at the same spot. Tried twice and it fails at the same spot.

Not sure if I should try to find somebody to resurface it or ask for a refund.

On the plus side, the 45 minutes of the game I can play is wonderful!

What a fun 2D Zelda clone. It streamlines so many familiar aspects of the genre into five 15-30 minute dungeons. Not perfect, but boy does this hit so many of the notes you want it to!!

Currently $3 on PSN, an absolute steal.
