I like things such as video games and music. I will post about those things. It will be fun.

I write about games here:

Hello! I'm Chris. My post splits here are probably 65/30/5 for videogames/music/other.

I play an even split of retro and modern games, lately with a lean towards JRPGs, platformers, and Metroidvanias. Nintendo and PS, mostly.

My musical tastes mostly fit neatly under the indie rock genre.

Truly one of the strangest games I've played in a long time.

Very much eschews video game norms, both in the skating genre and in general. More to come on this, but the skating here is a lot of fun and the visuals are great.

Let's 🧵on my favorite albums of 2025.

10. Cusp - "What I Want Doesn't Want Me Back"

A wildcard at 10, I only learned of this band and album a few weeks ago during list season. It is landing very well for me, though, so why not?

Catchy '90s indie rock stylings with a sub-30 minute runtime.

Game Awards stuff of high interest to me:

-Fate of the Old Republic
-Mega Man 12
-Tomb Raider Remake

Weird things happening with Terminator 2d NO FATE physical.

Normal edition is £38 on the official website but I can't find it listed under $60 anywhere in the US. The digital version is $30.

I'd love to buy a physical copy but double the price seems a bit extreme.

Anyway, the game looks amazing.

Last two game of the year awards went to a 3D platformer and a JRPG.

The '90s are back!!

Two pickups today.

Road Rage is one of my favorite PS2 games so Hit & Run taking that into GTA style has always intrigued me.

I now own three Tenchu games and have not played any. I know I will like them, I just have to do it. 2026 goals.

Zero hate to anyone who enjoys the show, but for me the Game Awards have become the embodiment of "this could have been an email."

I am excited to check in Friday (? I think the show is tomorrow) morning to see what was announced!

This online magazine is ridiculously cool. This issue has a deep dive on Folklore along with reviews of Mirror's Edge and Splinter Cell Double Agent. And more!!!

This is a very cool thing, anybody with any interest in #PS3 needs to check this out.

#RandomAlbumTuesday (on a Wednesday)

Yuck - "Yuck"

Sad about how the band changed immediately after this then broke up recently. Nobody quite nailed this exact style of '90s fuzzy guitars and hooks-galore quite as well as they did here.

Syphon Filter 2 wears its extremely PS1 influences on its sleeves, but still manages to forge its own identity along the way.

Provided you can accept many typical PS1 jank issues, it is still a surprisingly fun playthrough in 2025.

If you're wondering what kind of game Skate Story is, here's a poem titled The Devils Laundry. It shows up after you complete a chapter which has you cleaning the devil's laundry.

Last week was a busy one for little ol' Talon Trot Games.

Three reviews! In one week!

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is the headliner. A brand new beat-em-up so good that I'm starting another playthrough this week!

PlayStation Wrapped.

I played less PS5 this year, more retro consoles. I also played a lot of short games. I also played Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles.

Stellar Blade will certainly land at #2 by the end of the year.

Some final thoughts on my time with the Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls beta. It was live for three days, I spent a few hours with it, mostly getting whooped online but a bit of CPU fights as well.

A very slick looking and controlling game, as you'd hope from a fighting game.

Kiddo and I wanted to revisit this after Marvel Cosmic Invasion, and grab some trophies for the first time on the PS5 version.

It's great, an all-time couch co-op game for us. Closer to MCI than I remembered.

My PS5 tells me I'm about half way through Stellar Blade. So far, this is headed towards being, objectively, an 8 or 8.5 out of 10 game that lands like a 10/10 for me.

It is lacking polish in many spots, but the combat, level and enemy design, and overall vibe are spot on.
December 7, 2025 at 1:47 AM
Starting to really get into Marvel Tōkon. I don't know what I'm doing 85% of the time, but that 15% when something comes together feels good.

Now playing Breath of Fire IV #PS1

Had this one for a couple of years, finally giving it a try. I know nothing about the series or the game.

My first impression is that this game looks amazing.
