This [does] still primarily mean "just leave them alone", but if you can befriend a crow, you can befriend certain spiders.

Consistently show you aren't a threat, that you acknowledge them and their personal space, maybe give them little gifts!

They just don't have ways to show thanks.

Certain species of "jumping spiders" (phidippus) actually have the ability to learn and remember human faces, AND recognize kindness (offered to them).

Please be nice to spiders whenever you can, if reasonable.

And house centipedes.

And moths/millers.
