The Power Fantasy #12 by @kierongillen.bsky.social and @casparw.bsky.social was incredible. I did not see that coming. My only regret is that my social media reach is quite limited =( everyone needs to be picking this up! I want 100 issues min!

For anyone who can, a GoFundMe has been set up to help Rob's wife and their young daughter. Sending tons and tons of love and deepest condolences to Rob's family and friends.

Yeah - I had to tickle Iris' feet mid post-stream, so delayed my follow.

(At least, traditionally)

I mean, is it Fly on a wall diary stuff? Actually written supplementary? I dunno.

The post-play model for the latter, with a commentary of action, is the way for the latter... but as previously discussed, expensive and work-intensive,

But shrug emoji. I dunno.

You get me thinking of the two kinds of learning the GM does - the prep (which includes reading the game) and the practise (what one learns at the table). The former (and that's what Quinns does to teach the game as he does - in generals and specifics) is well out of the area of what AP covers.

Thank you, Paul. That's very kind. It's certainly where I am.

I’ve had the pleasure of reading the new issue, and I’m of the opinion Die is @kierongillen.bsky.social ‘s defining masterpiece, his central commentary on where we are. @stephaniehans.bsky.social understands perfectly.

One of my favorite recent comics, DIE, is rolling back onto shelves. DIE: LOADED from @kierongillen.bsky.social & @stephaniehans.bsky.social is the intersection of Pet Sematary, The Sisters Of Mercy, and the most harrowing D&D game you ever played.

Tell your local comic shop you need it.

I think "Kieron finds you unusually reasonable" should be the modifier there.

I'm not sure what the biggest problem of this outline is. That I have to grit my teeth every time I write the word "dramedy" or that I'm not sure I'm spelling dramedy correctly?
kierongillen.bsky.social
I almost made this joke again, but I then remembered that I'd already posted it.

For a group to play Monsterhearts, the players have to accept that the Turn Someone On move will as likely as not make their characters feel attraction to more than one gender. It requires Bi-in.
kierongillen.bsky.social
It's also interesting in that it's not what either game covered actually does - and I do have an essay I want to write about this path is relatively unexplored path in setting heavy games, which a Session Zero works as a sticking plaster over.

Anyway! Try Play To Find Out. I like it.
kierongillen.bsky.social
So, for me, more useful and interesting than most traditional actual plays. More dramatic actual plays will tell me a story. More factual ones will show you how any given game is done. This isn't either. You want to know what it's like to enter the world of Jorume or Nobilis? These are audioportals.
kierongillen.bsky.social
(I almost wrote "From Matt Fraction's Casanova" in the post, with the real credits in the actual image, but I decided even I wouldn't want to risk the possible consequences of that, just for a bit.)
kierongillen.bsky.social
Up to date with this, and am really enjoying it - I find myself thinking what Quinns is doing with these heavy games is doing what most these games don't - follow the old screenwriting adage of Turning Exposition Into Ammunition. As such, it's both an intro to the players AND the audience.

The new season of my actual play show where we play old rpgs from history BEGINS!

Here at the start of the season I mostly hold it together as the GM. Later, you can practically hear the steam coming out of my ears. Podcast links are in the video description!
