Even if you wanted to do this to avoid pinkwashing, and hadn't taken a check from Target and Spotify, it doesn't work, because nobody KNOWS they need to pay you to use the flag because they never had to for the old flag. I've talked to Fortune 500 people who were using it and didn't know this.

A community symbol should not belong to anyone. This is EXACTLY why I am not okay with one person getting to decide who gets to "officially" use it or not, when it's been companies abandoning us left and right. I could be 5% more sympathetic if Quasar hadn't given out any corpo licenses.

I will never use the progress flag until it is public domain, because I find the licensing absolutely abhorrent. It's supposedly to avoid pinkwashing, but Quasar got nice checks from Target, Spotify, Lyft and DC Comics so lmao fuck you web.archive.org/web/20220930...
