Okay, my follower count and mix on here is now such that I need to say this:

If you know me in real life, no you don't.

If you saw me at a place I can routinely be found, no you didn't.

Thank you for understanding.

New folks: If you would like pronoun labels, there's a thing for that.

@pronouns.diy

Please read the instructions.

I honestly don't mind she/her, either, but this is kind of about brand consistency.

Would it be excessive to put a little blurb about gender in the press kit page of my author site?

Not a manifesto or anything, just "The author asks that the prefix "Mx" and they/them pronouns be used in all printed copy."

All right, I think you've all had enough time to adjust to the name change. Today is handle change day.

Good on you for thinking it through.

Also, the number of dudes who are not looking and also mad about what they don't see is astonishing. The use of taxes over time is all around us.

(Sorry for delete and redraft. I took the pain meds to be comfortable enough to sleep, so of course I'm up and posting poorly instead.)

It's not perfect. My taxes have paid for a fuckton of things I seriously disapprove of. Rich people don't pay in enough. The code is too complicated. But those aren't inherent things; paying and utilizing taxes is, itself, a good idea.

People who opposes taxes are people who don't realize they're already benefiting from us acting collectively at scale.

Mostly dudes who can't conceive of their own disabled future and think that roads are facts of life instead of major ongoing human projects.

Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.

Let's settle for saying this: When I am talking to people about them moving to Vermont, I tell most at-risk people to avoid certain large sections of the state. Things are improving for queer folks even in the hostile areas, because there are more organizations there now, but not for everyone.

I have so much to say about this guy, but at least some of that would mean quoting conversations had in my presence in a capitol city bar, and I'm not about to break the unspoken code on that one.

Next time you think Vermont is all hippie utopia, please remember that one of these guys is in our state house because there are still racist & homophobic pockets in our state and they are not small.

Just another nudge to delete Spotify.

Do you really want to lose access to all your music if you stop paying them every month? Or make sure the artists you like are paid as little as possible? Or support this bullshit?

Buying and owning music is better in every way.

This weekend I went to a place and heard a thing.

Huge commercial pseudo-raves are not really my scene, but I did see some truly lovely flow artists in the back.
