Kinda like Susan Sarandon thinking Trump winning in 2016 would "hasten the revolution." Well, Susie Q -- it did, but the revolution in question is 2025 and because GOPers are smarter than you, they realized VOTING was the key to enacting that "revolution."

I can't remember if that was before or after he sneered about "gonadal politics." Because I guess dudes like him have a hard time connecting reproductive rights to economic security and independence. That's just side-dish female stuff to worry about.

I'm sure he can probably dig up some old tweets from randos, but I really want to know who specifically in media circles ran with that.

And there will be a Damascene conversion of the "working class whites" to socialism once the gospel of M4All and free college is preached to them enough times.

Ralph Nader, quoting George Wallace: "Not a dime's worth of difference between the parties." Pretty sure Gore wouldn't have put Roberts, et al on SCOTUS and then we wouldn't have had the CU decision. I seem to remember Nader caring about money in politics at one point.

I know you've been asked this so forgive me if you've already backed this up, but who, exactly, in the media called Mitt Romney Hitler?

I mean, the Bain Capital attacks on him originated with Newt Gingrich, IIRC.

I canceled my VF subscription and told them she's the reason.

THE DNC AND ITS OFFICERS DO NOT ENDORSE IN PRIMARY ELECTIONS —PERIOD!

THE DNC IS NOT FOR— OR— AGAINST YOUR FAVORITE CANDIDATE. WE SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEES CHOSEN BY VOTERS.

WE FOCUS ONLY ON BEATING REPUBLICANS SO GOVERNMENT WORKS FOR US.

THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

My dad died 25 years ago today. I still miss him, though he would be horrified at what's going on now.

And it must be fed a steady diet of white-innocence narratives.

Statistically, older women are probably healthier than older men, esp one that already had at least one heart attack, but for SOME REASON that guy gets a pass.

Absolutely this: there are undoubtedly people in your area already doing things. Find them, listen, find out more, and plug in where they need you.

"Community" is a word that's often used to obscure divides. If you don't actually know vulnerable people in your community, your mental version of what your neighborhood is experiencing is likely centered on very different things than theirs. If you want to help, don't invent tactics from scratch.

It really is too bad she couldn't bring about the spontaneous extinction-level event of millions of white males who are the actual problem in this country.

And yeah, I suspect some of it is because especially if they're retired, they may have more time. But I don't think that's the whole story.

Also JUST saw this and laughed hard.

Many years ago in the Bay Area, one of my favorite coworkers had a tat of Hothead Paisan.

And I'm not saying that they are the ONLY ones doing this. But in my decades of working on various campaigns and initiatives, I've noticed how many older women tend to be the ones to show up to phone bank, canvass, organize fundraisers and rallies, etc.

I mean, all people had to do was look at how Black women in particular were voting. But . . .

If you haven't noticed that older women are the nuts-and-bolts of community organizing, I question how much you're paying attention.

Anyway, glad to hear that brunch and being winemoms/grandmoms meets with a dude's approval.
