Extremely Canberra PSA: it's an extremely nice day outside. Get amongst it.
Day for it (sunbeams and squawking)
Interesting thread!
I'm back again telling everyone who'll listen and a lot of people who won't that we need more politicians!

Today, the ACT Assembly's inquiry into the 2024 election published a submission from @francismarkham.bsky.social and myself arguing it's time to make the Assembly bigger... again.
True hardships of my workday obvs
No one in the universe enjoys Royel Otis as much as Spotify thinks that I do. No one.
Melbourne weekend. Just the hits. None of the antics.
Keeps things interesting 🙂

It's apparently Oktoberfest in the airport bar, AND they're cranking ABBA.

Hotel I'm staying at uses parsley scented soap. I cannot stress enough - do not choose parsley scented soap 🤮

But also, everyone should wear their medals for the whole of event day. Greatness.
Let's agree it should be acceptable to slap a phone out of someone's hand if they're using it like a walkie talkie.

Albert Parkrun with around 1000 others. Delightful and impressive organisation. I beat my previous course PB by 10 minutes, melb is for PBs even if you finish 812th. #parkrunau #loveparkrun

I think there's hills though? You'd need skills for Bathurst
There are dudes doing rollerblade laps of the track at Albert Park. It looks fun.

Should I definitely buy rollerblades just for my visit? (I have rollerblades at home obvs)
This is still a very correct and necessary idea.
Before you're allowed into an airport you should have to sign some sort of contract confirming you understand its a public place.
When did we as a society decide to accept a prompt to join a mailing list before we have even looked at a website?
People worried about dangerous Australia wildlife really overlook the fact we grow our own muppets.
Photo dump from Saturday's 26km Southern Headlands walk from Narawallee to Burrill. Saw whales, seals, dolphins, lizards and a billion different birds and so many wildflowers. Zero snakes. Only got lost twice. Three swims, one voluntary. Good.
