Now, there are masked goons camping outside of churches to try and kidnap parishioners. An actual war, on actual Christians.

One thing I keep coming back to in my mind is how the lines of the current plan are designed not to free Palestine (or further any two-state vision) but are rather designed—yet again—to contain Palestinians within an ever shrinking territory. Gaza won’t even have a border with Egypt under this plan.

The idea that political dissent can only be the product of “paid protesters” or “outside agitators” has a long history. Here is the Mississippi columnist Tom Ethridge in June 1963 concerned that attendees at the upcoming March on Washington might be “whipped into a frenzy by skilled agitators.”
