I don't quite follow LLM news other than rolling my eyes at it now and then. From my perspective it looks like there was proof the ENTIRE business model of LLMs was proven to be completely bogus (you don't need the massive data centers to power them) - and then it was just ignored.
Was that just... Memory holed and paved over with more and more nonsense from the "pillar of the American economy" AI tech stuff? Does the industry just ignore this exists now? I can't seem to find anything showing that it was a hoax?
With all the ever-ballooning data centers and their increasingly bloated footprints on everything.... Whatever happened to DeepSeek? I recall that causing a mild panic since it seemed to show in early 2025 that you could run a whole LLM on an iPhone.
Which then makes me also wonder if an LPR who *EVER* forgot to carry their GC on them with nobody noticing is compelled to tick "yes" on the "have you EVER committed a crime you were not arrested for" because a misdemeanor is a crime, and not carrying the GC is a misdemeanor, even if not arrested.
The other thing is what I've read in immigration reddits is that LPRs often debate whether to always carry the GC on them and risk it getting lost/stolen and incurring the what was it, $750 replacement fee - or risk getting caught and acquiring a misdemeanor and $130 fee.

What's always oddly fascinating to me that (AFAIK, FWIW) American citizens can just say "I'm a citizen" and that's it, since they have no right to demand papers. And IN THEORY (highly, super duper mega unadvisable!) anyone approached could just insist "I'm a citizen, you can't demand papers from me"
Also, the ONLY means by which a person can amass such wealth are CRIMINAL. Which means unless you tax these fortunes out of existence? CRIMINALS WILL RULE YOU AND MAKE THEIR CRIMES LEGAL. That is ALSO absolutely crucial to internalize. All billionaires are criminals. All of them.
