My Truth and Reconciliation Commission is gonna be lacking the reconciliation part.

The Pope has made it from Chicago to Vatican City with a layover in between and he's been watching the same game the entire time.
I wonder if the Pope is watching this.
I'm sorry. They pitched over 1,000 innings and played 118 games?

I know things were different then, and they only played 6 years, but my god.
I'm a firm believer that defanging Chotiner would be reading 10-12 Wodehouse books, writing extensive notes, and walking in prepared to discuss.

Then, get the reading audience on your side by extolling Plum's love of dogs. Post photos on your Bluesky account of Plum w/ dogs.

Chotiner solved.
CHOTINER
I’m just wondering, you did look me up before agreeing to this, right?

ME
Whether or not I looked you up doesn’t matter.

CHOTINER
It doesn’t matter?

ME
It doesn’t matter because I’m nailing this.

CHOTINER
I’m just curious why you think you’re nailing it.

The Democratic party should adopt values first, not policies. Values like, "E pluribus unum, bitch. Diversity is our strength and how we kick ass. We welcome everyone who welcomes everyone. If you don't like it, fuck you."
Tell you what though, give me free healthcare for undocumented immigrants, increase refugee immigration, and restore affirmative action. Hell yeah, give me all of that and fuck these guys.
Hey it's the b.s. Republicans use. Look at all these unpopular positions, they're so out of touch.

Then you look and its 3 things poorly phrased, a position D's got scared off of in 2006, 2 positions a City Councilor voted for once a decade ago, and an unpopular R initiative they're blaming on D's.
This is a list of people who haven't won a thing in years. Their positions aren't to help build the Democratic Party, but are instead nostalgia bait for when they were last relevant.
The usual and unsurprising crowd of "sacrifice the unwashed for centrist votes" crowd is behind this Kinder Gentler Fascism screed
That's what I did reading GLHM's original comment.
Jesus. Did they let Will Lewis run Amazon too?
And as more Americans run towards danger it becomes less likely they'll succeed at more than turning most all of us towards them.
This thread is, I think, very true. Especially the part about believing we'll turn against each other. R's have built a media ecosystem dedicated to that, but lose the 10% soft support, 5% R cowards, 5% soft-MAGA, and it gets ugly quick.

Noticeable reality won't keep bending to their fantasies.
Refusing to feed people while building a massive ballroom is a fast track to eat the rich. No pun intended.
That's a follow; and I'm very sorry about your week.

the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles
Really like George, Champagnie too. Feel great about Sarr and Johnson, jury's still out on Bub and Whitmore, maybe Coulibaly. Bub I feel bad because I keep seeing him as a one for one for Avdija, who rocks, and on Bub I'm just meh.
Read an article about my Washington Wizards and briefly wondered if they'd make the Finals again before our Color Revolution happens, or after.

And then, thinking about it more, realized the question isn't will they make the Finals before, it's will they make the playoffs. Sigh.
Dunno that the entire colosseum going thumbs down makes for long-term success.
Oh no. I'm sorry. This is so tough.
I don't know if this is a joke by me or not.
It feels like either an attempt at that or, like a Roman, be torn to pieces and thrown into the Potomac.
Embalming could only be an improvement.
Every centrist argument boils down to "we will cede ground to the right no matter how radical and unhinged they become." I think the professional class of D centrists are a bit like the Platner left where "the people" is white and male. And because white and male is default conservative, you cede.
We think this Administration is spiraling now, I can't imagine what it'll be like.
And R's lose when people realize they can only provide radical change while decreasing personal stability, because that's the Republican project.
What Dem success there's been for the past decade has been coasting on the wake of Trump's unpopularity. They see when Republicans lose as an argument for stability and limited change, but it's not. It's that people want radical change, and personal stability.
I really think these centrists confuse their members personal preference for what voters want. You lose standing with all parts of your coalition when you refuse to crush Republicans who are out to ruin lives. The lack of fight is a constant complaint about Democratic politicians.
Li'l scoop at Semafor: A new report endorsed by Biden's former campaign manager, former DCCC chair Cheri Bustos, and other centrist Dems blames the party's broken brand on post-2012 left-wing language and ideas - not just "the groups" but adopted by whole party www.semafor.com/article/10/2...
Left-wing ideas have wrecked Democrats’ brand, new report warns
The center-left group Welcome relied on polling of hundreds of thousands of voters over six months for its findings, shared first with Semafor.
