This kind of rhetoric is shameful, coming from an individual who one minute is guest of honour at a fundraising breakfast which reminds the invitees they can each donate over $1,700 to the CPC and the next is staging photo ops at a food bank.

This article is written like Canada is just randomly boycotting American goods because it misses its friend — “amid bruised feelings” about tariffs? How about amid a climate of increasingly authoritarian actions and with Canada being threatened with annexation.

Bruised feelings??? I'm darn mad that our nationhood and independence are threatened because some orange menace wants our minerals, metals, oil and water. How can so-called journalists not understand this?

Sovereignty is not difficult to understand. Our reaction is based on the threat of annexation with tariffs as one of the tools the orange menace is using to try to weaken us. Much of our boycott is grassroots, with everyday Canadians saying we won't be pushed around.

We moved from New Brunswick to Ontario when I was six years old. I remember our first Ontario telephone number after 64 years! Many in between are a little foggy though.

A little off topic, but I think it's time for Canada to stop providing housing and related expenses for the LOO (regardless of who that is). Seems like a pretty archaic idea in this age of austerity. We could sell Stornoway and use the money for affordable housing!

Absolutely this! Elbows Up to me is mostly about protecting our sovereignty. Tariffs are a tool being used by the United States to weaken our country. We are boycotting American products to show we aren't the pushovers some people seem to think we are.
