The BS Asymmetry Principle
"Despite a law..." seems to be a phrase behind most of what the Trump regime does these days.
Man, these guys must be making a fortune to debase themselves this much, that or they love the taste of shoe polish on their tongues.
My God! I think everyone knows that corruption is a central theme of this administration, but read this detailed account from @justinling.ca of some of Trump's business dealings to get a sense of just what an empire of kleptocracy he and his family are building.

Keeping up with the UCP government's democratic transgressions can be difficult.

But not impossible.

Here’s a running list since Danielle Smith became premier. 🧵👇
I doubt there will be any reckoning. No matter the fallout, most people will go to their graves convinced they were right.

Cardinal Robert McElroy, archbishop of Washington and a figure close to Pope Leo, doesn’t mince words about what is happening. “We are witnessing a comprehensive governmental assault designed to produce fear and terror among millions of men and women. It really is an instrument of terror.”

Seminarians are leaving the country, priests worry they could be next, and Pope Leo XIV insists the Church must stand with its most vulnerable faithful.

None of the items listed would have made any difference. Trump voters would not have a cared about corp safety protections or if charging stations got built faster. Immigration and inflation were the big issues, and if the Dems weren't going to fix them, then they would elect a demagogue to do so.

ICE is thug trash.
NEWS: Federal agents crashed with woman’s car, pointed guns at her, dragged her out by legs, tossed her in a minivan, held her and (eventually) let her go without charges. This as Chicagoans say the immigration blitz is out of control. (DHS blames her.)

Chicago woman dragged out of her car after colliding with ICE demands accountability
The arrest of Dayanne Figueroa highlights growing concerns about the use of force against U.S. citizens and due process. She was released after a few hours without charges.

Alternate headline: Majority of Americans wake up and smell the coffee
We've been blathering on and on about this for almost 20 years, and we don't even have the EA done to build the *supply road* yet alone a mine (or roads to the south). I'm doubtful "rush" is a word that should be used in this context.
Yes, plus they let him get "pie-ed" on at least one occasion too.
There were a few incidents led Chretien to be less than impressed with his RCMP protection.

But, you've embellished the story. Madame became aware of the intruder and locked the bedroom door, and Chretien grabbed a soap stone sculpture for protection until RCMP showed up. There was no braining.
Abandon all hope, ye who read this...

People think that “fed up with the status quo” means angry, oppressed people fighting back when it usually means bored, privileged people causing chaos while thinking they'll be safe from the consequences.
Well, Tim Alberta describes how pastors have been admonished on Sunday mornings for preaching the Sermon on the Mount. I think it is more that evangelicals have had their minds poisoned.

Sooner or later, someone is going to respond to one of these ICE goons by returning the violence and it's not going to end well -- not for the goon, not for the victim, not for any of us.

So I have a Friday story for you. It’s one I promised to tell before. The themes are “seek help when you need it” and “communicating with family is important” but also “pay attention to how your coms work.”

I gotta be real, I did not suspect we would reach "roving mobs of white folks chanting "shame" at ICE" within 9 months, and it really feels like a sign of how much more horrifying it must be on the ground than those of us not there can even imagine.

This does not look like a crowd that typically, or perhaps ever before, goes out in the street confronting law enforcement. This is more PTA than 'antifa', but citizens get fed up with armed arrogant outsiders antagonizing their neighborhood
