New interview in @comicsjournal.bsky.social!

Really loved having this conversation with Ian Thomas, which was challenging in all the best ways. And it's amazing to be featured in the The Comics Journal, which I've been reading since I was a teenager.

Definitely try MH. It’s actually pretty scary before sneaking in some sweetness. When ready for first real horror movies—but still retaining a family vibe—Poltergeist and The Gate will be good starters. (The 12 year-old in my house digs horror.)
Monster House, ParaNorman, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

These are all flagrant lies, unsourced yet printed in a newspaper that allegedly fact checks things. The rest of it is meandering panic-bait that treats jail breaking LLMs. They don’t even describe the virus! They just said someone made one. Bullshit!
How I depicted our governor in Monster Crime. Holds up!
Reposting my Jeff Bezos comic for "Prime Day." Don't support this maniac's plan to pollute the universe. Shop local and independent!

I am once again asking us all to recognize that the Luddites were not anti-technology but anti-exploitation. If they were around today they would have joined you in a call for technology that serves everyone’s, not just the bosses.

You *are* a Luddite Bernie, and you should be proud to be one
Can AI and robotics help us in many ways? I am not a Luddite — I believe they can.

But we must make sure these new technologies benefit all of us, not just a handful of billionaires.

I hope you'll take a few minutes to read my op-ed in Fox News. Let’s start the debate.
SEN SANDERS: AI must benefit everyone, not just a handful of billionaires
Billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos invest billions in AI and robotics that could eliminate millions of jobs while increasing corporate profits at workers' expense.

As boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla prepared to set sail toward Gaza, a representative of Genoa’s Dockworkers’ Union declared that if anything happened to the flotilla, workers would “block everything.” When the flotilla was attacked, the reaction was swift: a 24-hour general strike was called.
We Said “We Will Block Everything” and We Did: Inside Italy’s Strike for Gaza
Following a 24-hour general strike on September 22, the country is now gearing up for a national protest on October 4.

The kicker?

So, yet again, higher education sells it souls, betrays its students, and utterly embarrasses itself. Their reward for Northwestern debasing itself so fully? The loss of $790m in funding.
"The video also states that Israel was founded 'on British land' and refers to the occupied West Bank as 'Judea and Samaria', the biblical name controversially used for the region by the Israeli government."

Students who didn't finish the propaganda training were blocked from class registration.
At a time in which the international community has finally begun to acknowledge the Gaza genocide and isolate Israel, Northwestern forces its students to be "trained" by a group whose website uses this banner for their website:
So much vile behavior from Northwestern here. First they assign mandatory "antisemitism" training created by "a pro-Israel advocacy group." In the training, "At one point the narrator compares critics of Israel to former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke."

Honestly, not giving up much here…
“Memphis resident KeShaun Pearson states, ‘We are breathing dirtier air, experiencing higher rates of asthma, and our children are spending more time in emergency rooms due to the misguided ambitions of billionaires who don’t see us as human.’”
As the South becomes the new epicenter of data center growth, it is becoming increasingly clear that Big Tech is following Big Oil’s footsteps.
Big Tech Data Centers Compound Decades of Environmental Racism in the South
The American South has long been a site of both corporate extraction and fierce political resistance.

One thing I'll say about DC not only canceling Red Hood, but recalling the first issue and refunding stores for buying it, is that you can still get Neil Gaiman's work through them. They still work with Otto Schmidt. Eddie Berganza worked there for years AFTER the formation of a policy that no women

It’s not a double standard this *is* their standard.

Speech for them not for us.
Violence for us not for them.

The sooner we understand this the better.
Apropos of nothing, I finished this stunner of a book by Gretchen Felker-Martin a couple days ago. Perfect ending!
A real privilege to be interviewed by Ian Thomas for @comicsjournal.bsky.social. Such incisive, probing questions: Ian got me thinking about comics and how I approach the medium in ways I hadn't before.
Great to hear! I think I know what you mean (and am flattered).
