The order takes affect Wednesday and bars the civil arrest of any “party, witness, or potential witness” while going to, remaining at or returning from court proceedings inside the courthouse or its parking lots, sidewalks or entryways.

Judicial warrants can still be served.

The Republicans do not need to be reconciled with or shown the light. Their Nazi party needs to be swept away. There are millions of people who don’t vote to bring into a popular front. White republican voters cannot be the center of gravity of whatever messaging pivot the brain trust is cooking up

I have to believe there is a face-saving talking point for them to introduce the idea: we shouldn’t have built this police state and given it to Trump. We made a wrong turn. We should have listened.

Stories of failed arrests due to community response are inspiring. There's been great legal work to free people, too. But this stuff is mostly a brief flash of unmarked cars, and then somebody's gone. Over and over again. No matter how many people are eager to help and want better than this.

I say this because the way user demographics skew on this site, it's more likely that somebody here's going to be closely connected to Rogers Park than to Gage Park or Brighton Park. I want you to know that Sunday's tactics are familiar to southwest siders and other highly targeted communities.

That does horrible things to a community, to people's ability to function. There are families who haven't left their homes in weeks, relying on networks of trust to bring them essentials. Kids staying home from school, fear about every unknown car on the block. And those fears are not unfounded.
