We’ve met with Greta Thunberg and others in the flotilla. They describe hours-long scenes of torture and sexual harassment in Israeli captivity. Experts conclude that they have been subjected to serious crimes – Sweden’s foreign minister believes they have themselves to blame.

Always funny to think back about how the GOP uniformly blamed antifa for J6 in the immediate aftermath… fast forward a few years later and they’re like “no J6 was good and we did it and only we can assault Capitol police officers #BackTheBlue

Mike Johnson: "They berated a Capitol police officer, screamed at him. He was merely standing his post. It shows, again, their disdain for law enforcement, the Democrats, screaming, assaulting officers."

Why would a billionaire want a functioning paper? Functioning papers cover shit like “did you know this billionaire makes his workers pee into bottles instead of taking a break” and “you pay way more tax than a guy with ten yachts”

feels like one of those things people will want once they don’t have it anymore actually

it is essential to me (now more than ever) to have a communication service we all share together, where u can send a card or gift all without using a phone or a computer to do it, or signing up for an account, or using a credit card. i don’t understand why ppl don’t want that.

The brother of federal Industry Minister, Mélanie Joly, is the president and CEO of Intelcom, a courier company that exploits subcontracted delivery drivers for pennies per package. It stands to benefit mightily from the dismantlement and privatization of public postal services in Canada.
The privatization crisis at Canada Post
Canada Post is under attack. Political favouritism, privatized delivery, and precarious subcontracting are putting workers and public service at risk. From Intelcom’s exploitative practices to the gov...

Promoting the editor-in-chief's personal side project. Zero named sources in a story that promotes the editor-in-chief's personal political position. Misspelling the subject's name. It took one day for CBS News to become a conservative blog.

White people who have spent decades thinking “Born in the USA” is patriotic and “Every Breath You Take” is a great wedding song are suddenly very concerned about not being able to understand lyrics to some songs at the Super Bowl halftime show.

no surprise at all to learn the guy across the alley who leaves his dogs barking outside, all day every day, will also yell at a city worker who is just there doing their job

As someone who has studied the circulation of terms “subversive” and “communist” in the lead to and through McCarthyism as empty signifiers to justify violent suppression I feel like I’m both amazed and unsurprised how transparently and unsophisticatedly “woke” and “antifa” are now doing the same.

Similarly describing him as an "expert on antifa" rather than an "antifascism researcher" further legitimates antifa as a proper noun in a way that makes zero sense

you'd think a prominent news outlet like the New York Times might mention that "antifa" isn't an actual organization in a long story about antifa, but nope!

and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate
NYT headline: "Rutgers Expert on Antifa Tries to Flee to Spain After Death Threats"

subheadline: "Mark Bray was teaching courses on antifascism. Turning Point USA accused him of belonging to antifa, which he denies. His flight to Spain was canceled abruptly on Wednesday night."

Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

in an effort to spend even slightly more time offline, this week i made micro-collage bookmarks & keychains for fun in my apartment
on the left is a bookmark made of a collaged playing card & black handmade tassel (hand with black fingernails holding a y2k style cell phone against a floral background), on the right is a bottle cap keychain with a collage inside (a purple & pink robot against a black and white lined background, with a small pink star to the upper left of it) co
