The reason why getting rid of Franken mattered is that it differentiated Democrats in a moment when difference is everything. It’s hard to find the words to pay tribute to someone who always knew how to master them, but I tried. Viet Mai’s poetry carried a heartbeat that connected people wherever he went. He had a way of showing us the power of words to heal, teach, and ignite change across borders and generations.
