Hello historians! I would like to mention that I have this initiative called the Iberian Colonial Repository, where I am gathering primary sources from archives that are not available online. If you have sources about colonial LatAm from previous projects collecting digital dust, please DM me

The whole yes we can brought very little change to the way the US conducted itself abroad I am afraid. Yes we were too naive about how much change was really possible or even desirable for those in charge.

But they have done this on the regular even before Irak and Afghanistan. This is as American as apple pie

Ah, the poison seed of Republicanism. The voting rights act. Some of those justices have probably been waiting their entire lives to overturn it.

Tomorrow the US Supreme Court will hear a Republican-led challenge to the Voting Rights Act which was enacted 60 years ago to prevent racial discrimination in voting, Reuters Legal reports.

That's twenty-seven flat-out murders. That's twenty-seven lives taken without even a semblance of a legal justification under domestic or international law.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

"Ari" is working in the poblano chilis in Santa Clara County. He explains how workers harvest the chilis, then take their full buckets over to a conveyor belt & dump them on it. The conveyor belt goes up lifting the chilis & "Ari" then directs them into different bins. #WeFeedYou

That is precisely it. Extraordinarily conservative, Fighting for democracy was not in their business card in the pre-Chavez days. Venezuelans are between a rock and a hard place.

I like WCK. I just don't like José Andrés that much. Greta might be pushing it for me, but I like her. I am not sure Zelenskyy could get it when he is actively fighting a war. Pelicot should definitely get something for absolutely bravery and determination to bring all that to light.

I agree. Still, that doesn't make the much opposition likeable or desirable. I feel for ordinary Venezuelans.

The state of our generation is hoping that our family, a family of four with two adults, can someday make as much money as one of our Boomer parents in retirement.

And if you belong to a later generation, things get much tougher.
