The 2006 reauthorization of the VRA passed 390-33 in the House and 98-0 in the Senate when both were controlled by Rs. GWB signed it. Conservatives have never full-throatedly supported racial and gender inclusion - that's why they're conservatives! - but there has undeniably been a change.

This pathway is interesting to me. Phases 1 and 2 in particular speak to parents (moms) who homeschooled their kids during the pandemic and/or realized that actually yes, their kids weren’t getting enough support in school.

The message resonates bc the convos ab curriculum etc are often toxic.

From "Are my kids getting enough support in school?" To "Maybe I should homeschool." To "Maybe modern medicine is bad."

My dad changed diapers. I remember when my mom went back to grad school to get her Masters degree. I met my wife when we were both young, I saw her become the awesome doctor she is today. Maybe I was one of the few socialized for it? I'm not sure that's a feature or a bug.
