Yes, and trying to find the words to celebrate it without sounding banal is hard!

Looking at my list we seem to have neglected George so far this year. So as it’s 35 years ago this month that “Volume 3” by the Wilburys was released shall we have a listening party on Saturday?

Yes. It's elitist to think folk can't appreciate both high art & pop culture. I find both are extraordinary. No one should dictate what & who art is for. The world is for everyone. It's OK to want your story to be told. That story is for everyone too. Relevance is being poorly defined by gatekeepers

EXACTLY!
‘Where once there was a yearning to be “exposed to something extraordinary”, today politicians and arts administrators are besotted by the notion of “relevance”, of the arts as something with which people must immediately identify or recognise.’ observer.co.uk/news/columni...

Such a pleasing snippet! The full film must be out there somewhere. I'd love to see the whole thing. I imagine it is a fascinating artefact of the time.

The Small Faces (with PP Arnold) ~ Tin Soldier

This is so great, Marriott was the epitome of what a Rock Star should be. I saw him many times, he was always on, and always amazing.

Everyone’s heard the incredible (triple-tracked) three part harmonies on Because from 1969.

But four years prior to Abbey Road John, Paul and George recorded this far more subtle, emotional and raw vocal performance. Just so beautiful

Recommend Andy Goldsworthy's exhibition. He inserts himself in his pieces in surreal ways. I won't share as it's good to be surprised.
Below is a Sheep painting. A canvas nailed in a field with a feeding block for sheep to come to. My mind went to Yoko's Painting To Be Stepped On because, of course.
Full picture of one of Andy Goldsworthy's Sheep paintings. The canvas shows mud brought on to it by sheep going to the feeding block in the middle. The feeding block is removed leaving a circle in the middle. Close up of one of Andy Goldsworthy's Sheep paintings. The mud is caked round the middle circle where the feeding block was
