Earlier this year, we published an article headlined “10 Ways to Enrich the Trumps and the MAGA Movement.”

We failed, though, to consider that the president might simply force the US government, i.e. us taxpayers, to straight-up pay him hundreds of millions of dollars.
Report: Trump demands taxpayers hand him $230 million
Is it still "ridiculous that anyone would even suggest" that he's cashing in?

Feel like it’s pretty clear that people want:
1. CHANGE, and not incremental change, but big new revolutionary ideas
2. SOMEONE THAT FIGHTS to make their lives better

Establishment Dems insist on being cowards who want to protect the status quo. So they’ll keep losing unless they learn from Zohran.

Generational change is coming: Since Zohran Mamdani won on Tuesday night, more than 1100 young people have reached out to @runforsomething.net to explore a run for local office -- one of our biggest spikes of the year yet.
I’m back from maternity leave and it has been a very strange time to be away from the world of politics. The fascist takeover has moved more quickly than I anticipated tbh 😬

people keep arguing about whether the dems should move right or left but I feel like a larger takeaway from the past several cycles isn't policy, it's that people's politics are deeply inconsistent and we're all highly susceptible to marketing, advertising and propaganda
Between electing Trump and celebrating the killing of CEOs, what is clear is that Americans are very pissed at the status quo + systems that are continually screwing them over. If Dems don’t recognize this and continue to be the party of “institutions” and “norms” and “civility,” it’s over for them.
It seems like the party that’s supposed to be about healthcare should be able to figure out how to tap into the very clear rage that people feel toward their experiences with the healthcare industry. But Dems are somehow yet again missing the moment. (But are we surprised?)

Dem voters fear Dem leaders will not stand up to Trump. More from our post election findings.
I keep seeing sickening amounts of smugness from our side as Trump voters realize some of the horrors to come. “I told you so” and “haha stupid” and “you’ve got it coming” are the exact elite, preachy, judgey vibes that people hate about Democrats. Maybe try empathy and treating people like humans.

Democrats are not ready for this moment. It’s so fucked up. How do you campaign on a guy being a dangerous fascist for MONTHS and then turn around and continue to abide by institutional norms like they won’t be destroyed on day one. I’m infuriated. I really am. We don’t deserve this horseshit.
I mostly quit twitter after Elon destroyed it so I am excited to try fluttering around this bluesky with you all!
