My talking about dnd and my character sparked the imagination of an artist on here who asked me if they could draw her for me. So cool! Anyways @synodicwanderer.bsky.social just sent me the art of my character Verynn Doyle, a half elf rogue swashbuckler/fighter duelist battlemaster. It's awesome.
You're completely missing the context of what Nellie McClung quote. You going to apologize for attending the No Kings Day protest even though that made MAGA supporters mad and upset? That's what the context is. Nellie McClung fought peaceful protest. She satired polticians. She didn't apologize.
Let your opponents howl. MAGA and the GOP don't deserve apologies with the actions they have been taking.
I think that's something that is missing in today's world. No. Don't apologize for fighting for people's rights. Don't apologize for believing that you and others can make a difference. Don't apologize for actions that are part of that fight for rights. Apologies to opponents mean nothing to them.
Let's just consider the suffragette movement and the context of this quote. Nellie McClung was not perfect. In fact, she has some nasty things in her bkgd while being a leader in the Women's Right to Vote movement in Canada. She was right to never apologize for fighting for what she believed in."

happy bday Canadian suffragist/writer Nellie McClung, b.

"Never retract, never explain, never apologize; get things done and let them howl."

"Men alone are not capable of making laws for men and women."
Ah, like the Western World, the Middle East, the Far East? :) Gotta love when everything is geographically ethnocentric! (also, maps! Globes and maps aren't accurate!)
dude tripped over his own feet twice? How much did he have to drink?.... that scrape over his eye looks painful.
Neal Caffrey has finally surfaced. Perfect job for him, working with the French to solve the Louvre heist (has anyone checked on his whereabouts?)
"we are all, how you say, trying to find l'homme who did this"
Aaand, I just wasted a bunch of money. Used a template for a cape but didnt realize it would not go all the way around like it needs to be for hornet. It’s semi circular and uuuuughhh. I thought I had enough fabric but it doesn’t work! Already cut into wasted. I am not cut out to do cosplay.
It was sent out from the processing centre yesterday. Hasn’t hit Out of delivery yet. I am hoping that tomorrow being Monday means it us arrived and delivered. Hoping for not too much w the assembly. Primer and paint should be fine.. *crosses fingers. Being a cosplay newbie is nerve racking.
For a first time, it prob isnt too bad and I’ll see after it sits and cures, then I will spray paint. Not sure how many layers of mod podge to put on right now but I’ll see tomorrow how it is sitting, I guess. Wish the sword had arrived though. In the meantime, cape pattern needs to be worked on.
Thanks. I have decided I really don’t like working w modelling foam/foam clay. I managed to rip it all off and am using the mod podge as filler and sealant. It looks a bit better. No big bumpy seams now but really patchy on the sealant and the seams are noticeable but at least not bulging.
Paint won’t help this. I wonder if I can find a dremel rotary tool and fix this. And the sword hasn’t arrived yet:(
I f’d up. Cannot get the seams sanded down enough. Big freaking lines on the mask. It looked better before. I sanded down best I could. Person w has the template said sandpaper would be fine, I got sanding blocks. Ugh. It looks horrible. I’ve covered it in modge podge and letting it dry but…
Also, glad I picked up some matte mod podge! I’d read it was good as a primer too for painting! I think I might stuff the horns w news paper or something like that.. use some glue to keep it in. will give some resistance but not do anything weird to deal w.
Plan is to mask and enjoy my balcony since I am in a condo. Best ventilation I can get right now ;). And thanks for letting me know you think I am fine :) I am back and forth on the horns and figuring out filling them or not. I think they’ll be fine w/out if I am careful.

Welcome to Bluesky 💙🦋
Yep, this is what my psychologist had me do. Btw, I scored a 144.
I have no idea if I’ve f’d this build or not. I mean, its my first time making something like this. The modelling foam was not easy to work with like the videos I watched..
I think I used thicker eva foam than the templater, they also filled the jnside of the mask w expanding foam. Mine seems ok.. maybe I’ll put some of the modelling foam inside too. But the stuff I bought was so difficult to work with.. it seems sturdy?*scratches head. Guess I let it dry and see.
I do not know if I’ve made a mistake on my mask. I’ve put modelling foam on the outside of it as the seams needed filling (this isnt something that happened in the template instructions. I’ll be sanding it down so I hope it works.)I also didnt fill the horns expanding foam..mine feel sturdy though.
