Try writing a LINQ provider. We have to explicitly "know" to unwrap these things every single time you refer to a value in a LINQ expression and handle the SQL construction a little differently than you would for a primitive type or complex type
It's from Marten and Wolverine just not being EF Core. Pretty well forces us to have to do an explicit wrapping or unwrapping everywhere in the internals where people think to use those things instead of a primitive, and that's a *lot* of permutations
I think some day I should probably actually learn what the meaningful spacing rules are in yaml. Some day.
Just happened to look into Marten issues this morning to see if there was anything new, and it was yet another permutation of strong typed identifiers in the LINQ support. Endless overhead from that stuff.

@andrewlock.bsky.social & @dunnhq.com, you owe me so many rounds by now...
Being one of those very rare days where I'm getting to stay in the coding flow and every song popping up is exactly the song I didn't know I wanted to hear that very minute.

Putting the stake in the ground for this as the #SongOfTheDay:

There was a day and time when I thought that Ted Cruz was the worst serving TX politician in congress, but his former chief of staff always says "hold my beer" to that

Thanks to the joys of gerrymandering, this clown represents a little bit of the Austin area:(
Chip Roy: "The truth is the marxist, radicals, and Islamists the Democratic Party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth. The truth is that there is a king and that king is Jesus. And the president has been willing to say it, & Charlie Kirk was willing to say it & he got killed for it."

the Muppets have been real quiet since the Louvre heist
Took a couple hours this morning on yet more permutations of strong typed identifier usage in Wolverine, then got an all new bug report in Marten from someone trying to use those damn things in all new ways.

Endless aggravation.
Just running YouTube playing music videos while I'm working in the kitchen today. It's playing a live performance of Tears for Fears, and they sound great, but I'm not handling it well how old they look.

Songs from the Big Chair was the first cassette tape I ever owned.
I was about to say that we loved going to Roatan, Honduras this summer on vacation, then remembered what you were talking about :-(
Writing a lot of technical documentation for the forthcoming Wolverine 5.0 release this week because that's what a good OSS technical lead *should* do. But I refuse to enjoy that!
The 3 country songs released during my adult years that always hit me in the feels are:

"Our Town" by Trampled by Turtles
"Feelin' Good Again" by REK
"Pink Skies" by Zach Bryan

And for some reason, when Pandora plays 1 of them, it's all 3 in a sequence
In retrospect I wish I and everyone else maybe had paid more attention to the uproar over Colin Kaepernick and the NFL players protests. The more conservative folks I worked with at the time and my extended family in small town Missouri went absolutely bananas over that
Eric Trump: "We're saving Christianity. We've saving God. We've saving the family unit. We're saving this nation. I mean, DEI is out of the window, Benny. You no longer have Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem. You no longer have Budweiser going woke as hell. All of this is dead."
My son & I are about to score 185 for this week in fantasy football. 9 players, PPV league. Crazy week.
Ugh. I remember reading how bad it could be if ICE tried to expand too fast like the Border Patrol did years ago and what it might mean if they drop their recruiting standards and training. Not to mention the kind of people who would *want* to play that role. Feels like it all came true.
