My threshold for forgiveness gets narrower every day with each demonstration of who and what they are willing to compromise on versus who/what they aren't.
In a normal world, journalists correct misinfo they’ve spread. In this world, bottom feeding “citizen journalists” will spend the day ignoring this new info, continue on their racist narrative, while finding ways to mourn a war monger they’ve just heard of, all to fight the scarecrows in their heads
A day of huge mourning for the Far Right in the UK. Not only was the Huntingdon train stabbings not the terrorist/asylum seeker/immigrant atrocity they’d hoped and prayed for, here is the hero of the day:
Always be creeping. 👀 🥸

Under the pretext of “defending our country” and “protecting women and children”, Freedomdad, Baker and cronies have targeted:
Roma community;
homeless;
asylum seekers;
migrants;
Muslims;
LGBTQ+;
politicians;
and now unions.

I’m sure someone wrote a poem about this pattern of behaviour once.
Imagine being from a working class community, saying you give a voice to ordinary people, but support pulling down union posters outside leisure centres calling for fair pay.
Fucking shills for the billionaire class.
He’s not in any way about “Dad” either since his child lives in Scotland with her mother who he stated is in another relationship, and the last time he saw her in person was on his way home from the Robinson rally. Being perpetually unemployed it’s also unclear how child maintenance is kept up.

This from the country whose bot farms are primarily responsible for the racist anti-migrant “Ireland is full” hashtag.
Your speech was my first introduction to you up in the wild north and was glad to hear you speak not long after in the Mac. Thank you for choosing angry gay stuff and not Greek poetry.
It's not for you, it's for other people. Don't come saying you care about social justice in a trans inclusive group then start feeling your way towards a soapbox when someone wants to know how to refer to you. Like, just say "she/her" and move on.
New members meetup last night. 20 odd people. Introductions, preferred pronouns, why you joined etc. What's with people starting their introductions with "I'm not interested in..." or "don't care about" pronouns, then spend 30 seconds talking about the thing they say they don't care about?...

Girls are going to go out in that rain tonight wearing heels and a tiny dress and they are braver than the entire Marine Corps.
Unions that represent shop workers here have a lot to answer for also, leaving workers exposed to handling and selling goods from a state engaged genocide, while no one from Sainsbury’s HO came to the defence of their store manager or was prepared to defend their sourcing or working practices.
Congrats to BDSBelfast whose case was thrown out today. For 16 months @sainsburys.bsky.social, PSNI and courts tried to crush anti genocide activists, charging them with attempted criminal damage for a sticker on a SodaStream box. Despite the “damage”, that box remained on shelf and for sale.

This article, on how Israel used drones to massacre children in Gaza while they were drinking tea, is more than 16 years old.
Lisa O'Neill at The Mac last night was life affirming. Not ashamed to admit I silently wept in the dark a few times.

"Oh to be wild like the roses,
Oh to be red with delight,
My blood is red out of fury,
The wind doesn't blow this far right."

Instead of the Angelus there’ll be a twice daily hypnosis broadcast that makes us all believe the weather is better

Cheap, effective, what the people want
As someone working in the “creative industry” it is a daily battle resisting the siren call of AI to get past the initial hurdle of a blank page in a world increasingly driven by output and quantity as a measure for good work. It hasn’t happened yet but every day is a battle between dark and light.
You know what, Nigel? Writer’s block isn’t really a thing. The real “block” is trying to survive in a capitalist system, in which creativity has been devalued & publishing taken over by managerial types who only understand productivity & see writers as “brands.” www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Fascists are truly nasty bastards.
The "funny" thing is they got their knickers in a twist over the election because they THINK our President has political power... Which that position definitely does not have 🤷‍♀️

Looking in from the North, the last three elections in Ireland have been absolutely toxic even by our standards. From hate posters everywhere to physical assaults on candidates & their teams. The far-right are destabilising democracy because they can't get votes/

Breaking news: Unbelievably, the ICC conference centre has tried to censor content relating to Palestine at @unisonni.bsky.social Regional Council meeting, specifically the use of the word genocide. We have obviously walked out.
