A mother of 8 was deported within 24 hours of reporting sexual harassment by an ICE contracto

She was following the rules & going through the process to get her green card

Someone working on behalf of ICE abused her.

She spoke out and was kicked out of the country.

It’s retaliation & it’s wrong

50 years ago, Howard the Duck #1 burst off the stands and became the big hit of the Bronze Age. Here's the color guide, posted by Steve Leialoha, the inker on Howard.

Except it didn't burst off the stands... or even make it to the stands. Dealers bought up all the copies & jacked the price to $20!

When the Howard comic strip was launched a year later, one of the Cleveland tv stations staged dramatic readings after the 11pm news! I never missed it.

25000 days ago (May 18, 1957), seconds before a 10:20 PM curfew that both teams had agreed to in advance, Baltimore’s Dick Williams hits a game-tying home run against the White Sox.

As Williams crosses the plate, the home plate umpire declares the game a 4-4 tie.

There's a hole in the bottom of the trashcan and he grows underground like a big green ginger root. Jim Henson confided that in me before he died.

Speaking of baseball... here's an interesting bit in the new Eike Exner book: apparently STAR OF THE GIANTS was the first manga to really establish the now-ubiquitous use of full bleeds in manga.

A seriously talented triple-threat!
Saw his name often in Marvel’s western and monster stories, too.
And God, I love that whole Atlas Comics experiment; what a weird batch of titles and a killer bullpen of talent. Totally sabotaged and gone way too soon!
