I know of plenty of individuals and organizations that are quite vocal, but sadly they are not a large share of the population, especially if recent polling is to be believed.

Whether it’s Trump illegally deporting immigrants to Uganda or Zohran Mamdani being born in Uganda, the East African nation is having a moment across the political spectrum.

"Liberal Jews like myself need to overcome our shame, which pushes some of us to avoid or deny the reality of Gaza. Instead we must grapple with guilt; not in the sense of personal culpability but in our collective responsibility toward and solidarity with our Israeli kin and Palestinian neighbors."
Israeli political scientist Lihi Ben Shitrit:

"The more I learn about genocide, the more shocked and embarrassed I am by my own ignorance. Once I actively tried to be better informed about genocide, the picture in Gaza became terrifyingly clear."

As an Israeli political scientist, I resisted thinking this war was a genocide. Here's what changed my mind
The incitement for genocide in the Israeli public sphere is undeniable. So why are so many of us liberal Jews so reluctant?

You help us mobilize thousands of Jews and Israelis, train community and student leaders, and disrupt business as usual across our country – because there cannot be normalcy while our government continues starving and killing Palestinians across Gaza.

Literally joined this platform (finally) to share this AEDE blog. If you are not heartbroken at the scale of child suffering in Gaza, you are not paying attention. Call your federal rep — at the very least. u.osu.edu/aede/2025/07...
Do everything within your means to get food and basic necessities in to Gaza. But also consider donating to Standing Together's annual fundraiser, along with so many other organizations doing important work to end these horrors. (4/4)

Making ourselves see and internalize what we're doing in Gaza, alongside direct relief and international pressure, is an important step towards getting sufficient aid to Gaza, ending the war and returning the hostages in the short term as well as any sustainable long-term solution. (3/4)
This gives consent and cover for the Israeli government and IDF to kill and starve.

Fortunately, organizations like @standing-together.bsky.social are working to change the narrative in Israel, making people realize what we are doing and that it needs to stop, for humanity's and our own sake (2/4)
As a new Israeli, I cannot be silent about Gaza. How can the pictures of skeletal, starving children not shock one into action? Yet so many Israelis do not see these pictures in the media, can't fathom that we're actually responsible for them, or simply do not see these bodies as human kids. (1/4)
