🧵One of the most encouraging trends in academia over the last decade is the semi-spontaneous emergence of a massive interdisciplinary network committed to confronting scientific racism in all of its disgusting forms and applications
I decided to go ahead and make a starter pack of historians, scientists, and others who work on scientific racism. If you’d like to be added to the pack (or removed from it), let me know.

Only tangentially related, but a certain Russian-American geneticist once received a passport randomly assigning him the middle initial J (he had no middle name). On a trip to Brazil, an official wouldn't let him in with just J on the paperwork, so he became Theodosius Juan Dobzhansky

eugenics looks like this
There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

what if I told you that taking accountability for your actions was traditionally considered a load-bearing feature of masculinity?
“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

Too bad the GOP effectively criminalized studying how information moves online and news orgs laid off and demonized all the reporters who covered the burgeoning online accelerationist performative death cults. All of that work was somehow "censorship" that needed to be stopped. Now we're here.

NYT pantsed by the Crimson

A+
Important details from this story:

1) Yet another news-break by student journalists (this time @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social) www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

2) Harvard saying "see you in court," not "let's make a deal."

3) Per Garber, WH/MAGA leaked news of a "deal." NYT then ran with it.
Check out @overton.io (founded by Euan Adie, who also founded Altmetric), which has a pretty impressive database/platform for exploring citations in policy docs (though last I checked, court docs are still hit and miss)

It is depressing, but all too predictable, how swiftly we’ve gone from the Social Science Genetic Association Consortium offering reassurances about the uses of behavioural polygenic scores to one of their lead authors marketing embryo selection for IQ

A fourth employee of Heliospect is an active quantitative racism researcher, publishing with the usual race science crew on bogus Jewish polygenic score comparisons (work that was immediately and summarily rebutted: trejo.scholar.princeton.edu/sites/g/file...).

A third employee (and senior author on the research whitepaper) somehow accidentally ended up posting anti-immigrant slogans in a private chat with an Austrian far-right activist (aka neo-Nazi) Martin Sellner:

A second employee (and the first author of the Herasight research whitepaper) was a member of a Telegram group for the pro-eugenics online publication Aporia. Aporia also frequently publishes on the topic of white racial solidarity:

A final point about trust. Herasight has apparently partnered with Heliospect Genomics, founded by self-described eugenicist Jonathan Anomaly (a member of both companies). Anomaly and Heliospect were profiled last year by Hope Not Hate:

A few thoughts on Herasight, the new embryo selection company. First, their whitepaper (drive.google.com/file/d/1EpFi...) implies that competitors like Nucleus have been marketing and selling grossly erroneous risk estimates. This is shocking if true! 🧵
