It's so vastly improved from the Switch 1's ghoulish system of screenshooting a QR code so my phone can connect over wi-fi to the Switch and transfer photos over.

People have already forgotten that the appeal of SteamDeck's SteamOS was not that it ran Steam, but that it didn't require you to spend six hours setting it up and tweaking it. There's a lot to be said for UI design, especially in a handheld ecosystem.

I have definitely seen some nicer longboxes over the years -- some with designs, a couple made more like cases, or just straight-up plastic bins. Problem is they cost like 5x as much as a long box.

Page Punchers is such a cool idea and a missed opportunity.

If I was a kid and got this, it would be a cool figure and a gateway into comics. But for that to work, these have to be impulse buys.

At $27, these are squarely aimed at adult collectors...who don't want these figures in this scale.

But PC parts are going up in price.
Game Pass is going up in price.
Consoles are going up in price.
Accessories are going up in price.

I cannot, in good conscience, support normalizing a handheld that costs $1000.

This might just be me being overly sensitive about pricing issues we're seeing right now, but any outlet that tries to tell me with a straight face that a $1000 handheld is "worth it" for any reason is going to get this look from me.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.
