it's not fun to go online and see what other people are saying about a game or movie or tv show you love anymore. it's just an endless stream of anger and vitriol and personal attacks, plus the constant harassment of artists, game devs, writers, directors, actors, etc.. mega starmie is the funniest thing pokemon has done in a long time and i will not stand for any slander of it. i laughed so hard when i saw a clip of it running. it moves like a guy in a rubber suit from a super sentai episode where they have to fight a starfish monster menacing the beach that week

to me, “you should create for yourself” and “you deserve to be acknowledged for what you make” are two statements that should coexist. chasing engagement will rot your soul, while being neglected will see your passion wither. loving what you make is a failsafe for when the engagement never comes.
