In the first term, he crashed into the guardrails. They held off the worst but were damaged. And instead of strengthening them, we collectively said "look, they held, what's the problem?" which allowed him to plow right through them in the second term.
They were handing out flags at the last protest and I'm going to bring that one this weekend
Local Democratic offices are doing canvassing to GOTV to vote No on 1. They're always looking for volunteers to knock on doors.
Democrats should have a running list of everything the president and his administration have done that warrant impeachment, along with a sign that says __ days since the administration committed an impeachable offense.
Ahh, the Good Old Days. When people also yearned for the Giod Old Days.
A Brief History of Let’s Bring Back The Good Old Days

That's multiple times he's used that talking point. I don't think he thought it through

So you agree
Trump wants to be a king
You can see "Liberation Day" pretty clearly, but I forget, what happened in March?
I'm not going to the No Kings protest because I hate America. I'm going to the No Kings protest because I love America.

Media framing the Gaza deal and other international affairs around Trump’s quest for the Nobel peace prize highlights how much news and public discourse have become warped around one man’s pathologies.

Whether he gets praise is one of the least important thing about this.

Me, in @msnbc.com:
Opinion | Trump’s Nobel peace prize campaign is the least important part of the Gaza deal
If the ceasefire holds, the administration deserves much credit. But the fixation on Trump getting a prize distracts from things that actually matter.

Oh, does it benefit the US to provide aid to foreign countries? That would have been good to know back in January and February.

The future we could have had...
Anyway, the whole book is hilarious (as are Barry's other novels), and I recommend reading it.
Then he reflects on how he has so much money, he could keep buying pizza places every night for 20 years and not run out of money. And while it's a fictional scene, written by someone who's not a billionaire, I think it's a good reminder of how rich people think of money.
There's a subplot in Dave Barry's novel Insane City about a billionaire obsessed with keeping score with other billionaires. And there's a scene where an even richer billionaire gets high and buys a pizza place just so he can get delivery...
I've been reliably informed that this sort of rhetoric is dangerous and should be punished
Yeah, this one sounds very typical of a new manager coming in and getting to know the lay of the land. But I also don't blame people for being on edge and seeing parallels to Elon's 5 things debacle.
Even with these helpful explanations, I had to read that paragraph so many times to figure it out.
Not the first member of the administration that thinks the Constitution is there to protect the rights of the government bsky.app/profile/atru...
HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect
It's like when Kristi Noem claimed habeas corpus was the President's right to shuffle prisoners around. These rights are to protect the people from the government, not the other way around.
