Playing Earthbound for the first time ever in 2025 is fascinating, actually. You're just a kid and the world's gone mad. All the adults are useless at best or trying to kill you at worst. Everyone talks like a crazy person. Everything's too expensive. Your next door neighbor wants to be a dictator.

I have absolutely no room in my apartment to even think about it, but I've been feeling an itch to mess around putting together a DOS or maybe up to Win95 era PC. Just been feeling really nostalgic for it lately, felt like computers were so much more personal then.

All of this is so true. It’s been so hard to disentangle myself from feeling that way, but the last few years really helped to teach me better habits and make progress.

You can still have days where you slip up, but that’s okay too.

I’ve been working for 15 years as an animator and I can tell you without a doubt, the best fix I ever found for imposter syndrome is living a full life where your days and worth don’t hinge on whether or not you were a good animator today.
