Ah, the fascinating #planthopper nymph, survives by mimicking an Alien Facehugger. Any casual garden predator would steer clear of this cutie for fear of an alien egg implant and eventual chest burstage. They've all seen the movies.

I've been calling my local great blue heron Frank for about a year now. The other day I heard a total stranger call him Frank. My work here is done. 🌿📷🪶

My local bird patch fledged 11 raptors this spring

4 Cooper’s hawks
2 white-tailed kites
2 great horned owls
2 red-shouldered hawks

…and 1 red-tailed hawk

As they mature, they try different hunting techniques
