To say people make a rational assessment of the threat environment around Covid… is just not true.

Most people refuse to talk about or read anything about Covid.

Long Covid has surpassed asthma as the most common childhood illness, and it’s rarely spoken of.

And even if you didn't... there's nothing wrong in knowledge for its own sake. Knowing things is good. It's great if the things you know are useful, sure, but not everything has to be useful to have value!

I think of it as voting against rather than voting for... as in I cast my vote for the party most likely to beat the party I don't want to win. Though I frequently have to hold my nose when I do!
