I'm a Fall of Civilizations @fallofcivspod.bsky.social voice actor! In fact, I deliver the first and last readings you'll hear during The Mongols: Terror of the Steppe. I'm unbelievably chuffed to be part of one of my favourite podcasts. Huge thanks to @paulmmcooper.bsky.social for giving me a shot!

Our video editor is now sending the @restart.run team Slack out-of-context clips of me. A progression I'm not sure I'm prepared for.

Battlefield 6 marks a glorious return to form for the grand-scale shooter and brings some brilliant new additions, but more support is needed to maximize its potential.

Here's a snippet on the new Escalation mode, which rocks.
Text: Escalation, on the other hand, may be my favorite Battlefield mode yet. The setup begins much like Conquest, with two teams racing to capture and hold control points across a larger map. But instead of reducing ticket counts, these now contribute progress toward a central bar. Fill your team’s side first and you’ll score a point. But crucially, you’ll also change the game’s structure.

As Escalation progresses, control points are steadily removed but vehicles are added. A match might commence with just jeeps and a transport chopper to utilize. Over time, anti-infantry vehicles enter the fray, then tanks, attack helicopters, and jets. The end of each Escalation match is a cacophony of combat.

Choppers, fighter jets, and bombers scorch the skies as an armada of grounded armor rumbles toward a slim handful of remaining control points. Smartly, these tend to be placed indoors. For all the chaos outside, it’s the foot soldiers who truly get to finish the fight. Escalation lives up to its name, and comfortably shows Battlefield 6 at its best.

I reviewed Battlefield 6 for @restart.run! It really feels like a return to form with some great new modes and a focus on making the core elements as gratifying as possible, but it desperately needs more maps that deliver the full-scale experience. www.restart.run/articles/bat...

Utterly baffling response. Police waste time making pointless arrests at peaceful protest, so the logic is to make more peaceful protests an arrestable offence. Going to be abused further, too.

Police to get broader powers to crack down on repeated protests
The move is not a ban on protests but "about restrictions and conditions", Shabana Mahmood tells the BBC.

Having that issue with the flipping beastfly at the moment. I get tired/frustrated with the repetition and fumble when it starts summoning the little chargers.

I know I'm late to this, but while I didn't find these guys tough, they were extremely tedious. The fight doesn't change much materially over its length and outstayed its welcome. Loved most of the other bosses before this one!

Did not realise The Spectator was quite this level of repugnant. Abhorrent stuff.

you know I wouldn't say I had high hopes for "the Spectator interviews the Tate brothers" anyway but somehow the piece is worse than I thought it would be

For the record, it was Fire Emblem: Three Houses that pushed me to make the switch. Another reason it remains the greatest game of all time
