Ian G. He/Him - Chicago A failing satellite on the edge of the void. Methodically invested. A drummer, so I always get to move to my own beat. Find the things you love and try to put more of it into the world.

One of the first songs I remember being able to drum along to. Didn’t realize until years later that it was a loop of John Bonham from Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks”
Congratulations on your huge step! I’ve got five more weeks before I can even think about anything more than ten pounds.
There’s a lot more room to explore with multiplayer formats, and we haven’t gotten a ton organized around it. I think it’s aspirational that Commander was started and shepherded by fans for so long. Looking forward to and looking out for the next Commander!
Never has. Red is the only monocolor that adds combat steps. Blue has other phases, but never combat.
If white can’t do it on its own then aren’t they designing to bleed red’s pie into white? We already have Waves of Aggression, so what hurdle are they trying to lower?
If you’re running mono-W and I can Red Elemental Blast your Swans of Bryn Argoll…

🎵It’s not overlap, it’s bleed! /
Put it in another bloody format! 🎵
I’m still recovering from a surgery, and began working remotely today. Went outside for my first post surgery walk during my lunch break. It’s not much, but it’s a big step in the right direction.
@dustycupboards.bsky.social wanted to say thank you for fighting the fight on hybrid mana. It’s nice seeing someone that is willing to make the case on so many threads.
a successful multiplayer format for more than a year. Meanwhile, ~twenty years ago fans created and ran with EDH and built it up to where it is now. A lot of these discussions were already hashed out by the folks that managed the format, and I trust their bonafides. We can shuffle the proof.
There’s a lot of nuance that I think people miss with this. Wizards have had 32 years to create a multiplayer format. The comprehensive rules didn’t even acknowledge multiplayer until 2004. They’ve created some cool products that create casual multiplayer games, but they have not managed…
The folks that built the house and kept it up for twenty years made their intentions here pretty clear. I’m not interested in the new owners knocking stuff down. Commander doesn’t need to be load bearing for all of multiplayer.
The lowercase company name over the capitalized PRODUCT NAME also increases the threatening aura…
Does Angus Mackenzie count? 😅
Declaring attackers and blockers are in separate sentences. Is there space between the two for the active player to decide where their assigned attackers are going before the player casting Master Warcraft assigns blockers, or do they assign blockers “blind”?
No dice on wookieepedia, though. Guess there are freedoms we still haven’t gained from the Galactic Empire.
I’m not on-camera regularly, but I’ve wondered about this myself. I’ve been blind in my left eye since age ten. I’ve had people that were shocked to find this out, and others that have asked what’s wrong with it. It strange to not always know how it looks or to be able to do much about it.
Hadn’t posted about it here, but I had an outpatient surgery scheduled for today.

Made it through and I’m home relaxing. Less pain and food restrictions than expected, but still rough.

Rewatching AP Bio and planning to start FFVI. Any other suggestions/recommendations?
The initial premise of “a fat pack shuffled together” sounds like the decks I was building when I started during Fallen Empires.

Haven’t come across it, but interested. I’ll keep an eye out at shoebox.gg

Hoping to find more multiplayer there (and introduce folks to the stuff I’m building)
