Probably best to avoid me for the next few weeks because I just finished @timbl.bsky.social memoir and I am insufferable. I am skillfully steering every conversation so that I can bring up an anecdote from the book.

The International Women’s Broadcasting Histories network is delighted to announce that it will be hosting its inaugural conference at the University of East Anglia, 25-26th June 2026.
#cfp as a 🧵
As a mum of an autistic child, I don't feel any guilt. I do, however, feel furious and terrified because the end goal is to make autistic lives unliveable. This. Is. Fascism.
Can we make it so that everyone in power *has* to read this book?

I wish more disabled and/or neurodivergent people (not to mention the ableds) would understand that the explicit openly stated goal of tech companies re gAI is to replace every public/social service from healthcare to education and more with their tech.
And they’re using us to build consensus.
The optimism of @lew-swift.bsky.social when we're 1-0 down - "I'm going to shut the curtains so the neighbours can't see us dance when we equalise"
I am deceased #lionesses

Anyone else find breathing exercises immensely stressful?
When my niece was about 2 and you said "bye" to her, she'd say "like and subscribe"
SEND parents: We need more TAs and 1-1s in school
Government: there's no money.
Also government:

(I'm not anti tech but this is not the silver bullet the goverment thinks it is. It does not 'assist' kids with social communication differences and sensory processing disorders)
I was genuinely horrified to be told in parenting course for kids with additional needs to ask Chat GPT for Occupational Therapy advice because the waiting lists are out of control
Do not take legal advice from chatGPT.

Do not take medical advice from chatGPT.

Do not take financial advice from chatGPT.

In fact, stop using chatGPT. It’s destroying the environment, giving people terrible advice and lining tech bro pockets.
I have three hearings at three different courthouses today. At the second, someone was sobbing outside the courtroom. They'd asked ChatGPT what to say in Court. They believed what it told them.

They lost because it hallucinated, and they didn't know there were no do-overs.
My eldest often assigns family and friends names related to a thing he's interested in. (We've had planet names, Thomas characters etc). He's currently into Gladiators. He is referring to me exclusively as Mark Clattenburg.
Kate Terkanian's keynote on women broadcasting histories was great. Also (sadly not pictured) LOVE historical BBC staff photos. Proof that staff photos of any kind are never not awkward.
The @womensscreenwork.bsky.social panel was excellent. Such a great project. Can't wait to see it progress
Day one of #DWFTV7 done. Highlights incoming. First, Lincoln is pretty
So I know it's fathers day coming up but I just attended a course for parents of kids with additional needs. Can you guess how many dads were in there?
UEA HUM PGR conference is fast becoming my favourite event. Such fascinating research and presented so enthusiastically and dynamically. Massive congrats to all involved
Hilariously I posted this before seeing that there would be a screening of a video essay she co-created. It's superb.
At the 'Women Talking' symposium in Leeds. Blown away by the way @feministbell.bsky.social presents. A real feminist ethics of care in the way she curates and communicates info. I don't know how to explain it other than to say it's like watching a really good documentary.
Talk on Annie Hadley, a costume cutter and our responsibility as academics to disseminate our findings in easily accessible sites
Some highlights: loved this talk and this slide in particular for highlighting absence of evidence is not evidence of an absence
