Eye Spots and Echoes

I don’t remember taking this picture, but I must have—and fairly recently. I believe the butterfly is a Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia). I don’t use an insect ID app, but I usually try to identify them through a bit of Google sleuthing when I post a photo.
