One teaspoon of the neonicotinoids pesticide could kill 1.25 billion bees. And yet the Government could be about to let it back on English fields. Sign the petition: tell Ministers to keep this ban on bee-killing pesticides in place.
Thanks @epatientdave.bsky.social I was referring to your International Patient Summary that you developed and the IPS QR code. It would be interesting to know if you have used your IPS when on your travels. It is a nice demonstration of the utility of SNOMED CT in health records.
@nayib-bukele.bsky.social can El Salvador’s use of #SNOMEDCT support health delivery. The terminology is the medical equivalent of Bitcoin for helping populations use health care systems effectively and efficiently
If you want to see the International Patient Set using #SNOMEDCT in action check out @epatientdave.bsky.social example on the web. Great set of real examples of mobile health data in action.
Belize has joined #SNOMEDCT community as a member country. They join El Salvador and Jamaica as a group of countries. Travel between these countries is common and the opportunities for use the International Patient set of concepts in portable EHRs is there for everybody.
WORLD’S RICHEST MAN BUYING OUR DEMOCRACY! Elon Musk is set to pump £78m into Nigel Farage’s party—a sum that would allow Reform to flood our politics with targeted ads. Maybe other countries allow billionaires to buy elections, but not here!
Looking forward to hearing about the experiments. I swim all year round from South Beach at Studland. The area of sea from Old Harry Rock to east of Douth beach is full of #Seagrass which is fragile and regularly damaged by small boats anchoring in the bay. The Studland Blue Tits will join #Seagrass
Preparing for #SNOMEDCT discussion with our clinical informatics lead in pathology. Deploying terminology in #BartsHealth digital pathology system in @sectra.bsky.social to move towards computable synoptic reports. Old SNOMED codes have to go - compute for health
Really great afternoon with #JohnGrimes @csiro.bsky.social talking and planning #SNOMED LLMs use of semantic triples and embedding for EHR data analytics. Visualisations of data and feature development for machine learning.
Big data used for analysis, manipulation and then control extending far into the future. Read the whole thread…
1/ 🚨 Conspiracy theories about the 2024 election miss the bigger picture.

The truth? It wasn’t one night, one hack, or one fraud. It was a system rigged in plain sight – right in front of us. The playbook was out in the open for years. But hardly anyone paid attention.

Here’s how they did it... 🧵
Drax Biomass Power Station is burning the equivalent of 27 million trees a year and getting paid public money to do it! Tell the UK government to stop subsidising forest destruction.
It is clear that the administration has no real interest in improving water quality for bathers anywhere in the UK. The words paralysis and shame describe the consultation.
In other words polluters will continue to be given the benefit of the doubt if change is ‘infeasible’ or disproportionate. They have had years to respond but each administration has let them off with no regard for the principle that the polluter pays.
It is clear that the administration has no real interest in improving water quality for swimmers in registered bathing areas. The changes suggested are bureaucratic and give polluters up to 5 years to improve with consideration for feasibility and proportionality.
Just going off-piste for a second. I swim all year round along the Dorset coast but usually at South beach in Studland. I have just completed a questionnaire for a public consultation on quality of bathing water organised by the government. The questionnaire is one of the worst documents ever.
@caabtor.bsky.social good to see you here Carol. Computation on standardised terminologies feels a good way forward for @bsky.app folk and to make semantic interoperability a reality

When the word Reckless is not strong enough
The horses of the apocalypse riding through the heavens. Looks like they may find us.
There are many starting points which could lead to better health delivery using data, software and computational methods. Sharing experience as patients, health professionals of all kinds, across ages and groups to make a human digital health forum.
@carloprina.bsky.social can we find a way to build an engaging digital health network for east London on @bsky.app It starts with structured data in the problem list….
@dermotor.bsky.social good to see Professor Sudlow has published her review: the arguments for point of care data recording getting stronger as we get older. Hoping @martinmckee.bsky.social will join us on using SNOMED CT for population health
