Excessive force. PERIOD!

They called them “violent mobs,” but the violence came from the guys with badges and body armor.

📌 Keep sharing videos, everyone, because they’re evidence.
5/ Palestinians tired of the world’s staving off any just solution to their complaints. Thus Hamas’s calculated risk that it could goad Israel into overreacting to its October 7 attacks. Israel did, but doesn’t care so long as the U.S. remains a constant ally and benefactor.

That is now in doubt.
/4 Ironically, merciless pursuit of that security is what now threatens the ability of Zionist Jews to live in Palestine. It’s beyond what Americans (including many Jews like me who follow Rabbi Hillel’s ethics) can endure.

Mamdani has broken the surface tension of unquestioning support for Israel.
3/ Israel’s existence within secure borders if not just a tenet of their religious belief, it is the CORE of it. It’s not Old Testament stories or our ethical heritage. Zionism was born of attacks in the Pale of Settlement and then later by Nazi Germany. It reflects *actual terror* of losing Israel.
2/ For some Jews, Mamdani’s congenially and steadfastly holding a position that threatens their religion’s reason for existing. That LITERALLY CONSTITUTES anti-Semitism. It makes them feel like they will be judged by him and others — and therefore unsafe. Only UNANIMOUS SUPPORT makes them feel safe.
1/ Why do some critics consider Mamdani anti-Semitic? Because (1) he considers Israel’s actions to constitute genocide and (2) won’t affirm Israel’s right to exist safely within its current borders. That, and not his color or his socialism, is literally what makes elites within the party reject him.

Not here to be proselytized. Peace out.
I agree that people divesting is worth reporting and supporting — but that could be due to any number of things Thiel & company have done — like boosting Vance — rather than the “Orwell is HERE!” assertions made. The opening vignette (his daughter and the pond) almost screams out “I AM PARANOID!”
It’s a fair warning re divestment, but people shouldn’t expect a well-written piece — let alone something well-edited and documented.

I couldn’t use it to convince people not already disposed to accept it on political grounds (as you do) that Patantir has or will soon have this sort of capability.
I strongly doubt it. This is DEFINITELY a pay-per-view event!
Will this be available on streaming?
Please consult a qualified political journalist before you run in a race that already has a decent challenger, because you may make it less likely for them to win.

If someone you don’t like is running unopposed, though, this is a good public service!
Your two comments here, the political substance of which I accept, could have been written without your ever having read this article. That’s so unnatural that it leads me to think that you DID NOT in fact read the article.

It’s interesting in parts, but those who try to read it may find it a slog.
Jeepers. I wonder how they feel about Trump’s climate “plans.”

we can chalk it up to youth and inexperience but the biggest mistake the mamdani campaign made was winning by 8.8% and not 1.5%, which is the margin needed for the media to say it’s a total mandate
Interesting, but a bit abstruse.

"Because laughter, in a world of total control, is rebellion."

Wise words. Resistance is my religion, how about you?

This is a must read!
I said I would update this with new information: how to boycott Palintir harder with direct action. It's updated now and probably will be again. Please share our big boycott guide pinned to my thread, but this is related and very serious:

The party needs to give us something to vote for.
[thinks a spell]

Well, arguably, Curtis Sliwa escaped with as much dignity as he had went he entered the race, and I’m not sure I would have bet that way.
Sometimes I forget that the melange that makes up Mamdani’s appearance includes a substantial helping of Roy Kent.

We need a new generation of leaders who are the voices of democracy, freedom, social justice, & the rule of law.

A new generation that renews the “we” in “we the people.”

Instead of fretting over Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Party should embrace him as part of its future.

10/10 response.
PHILLIP: Republicans are saying that Chuck Schumer is afraid of you. Is he?

AOC: I don't think so. Sen. Schumer and I have worked together. I think Republicans are afraid of me and they project their fear onto him. So they're just telling on themselves when they say that.
