Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 84th day out of the last 96.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Bobby Cole…American to the core

Running for Gov of TX

Let’s get him elected

Cause as he said, reckoning day is coming for the republicant traitors who spit in the face of Americans & use the Constitution to wipe their asses
Maybe repeating this but I really like this guy
Another idea suggested was to use it as a US version of The ICC in the Hague.

On a related note, one should ask why Walmart and other large corporations that look at their employees as easily replaceable cogs, have mandatory workshops where they learn how to file for SNAP benefits to survive...while intentionally being scheduled for only 15 hr. shifts.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
Busy on the yacht, can't be bothered w/ issues about living wages & food.

Amazon is a prime example of corporate welfare. They avoid paying corporate taxes, AND don't pay a living wage for their workers. Amazon delivery drivers get $19/hour, compared to $35/hour for unionized UPS drivers. We subsidize their operation at both levels.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

An underrated storyline in 9 days: Youngkin has made it so people lose their voting rights for life for any felony at present. A Dem proposal that’s started advancing to restore voting rights hinges on Dems keeping the state House
Virginia Senator Scott Surovell says it’s offensive that his state makes people “get on their hands and knees and beg the governor” for their voting rights. He's championed automatic rights restoration for people released from prison.
Virginia Democrats Advance a Measure to End Lifetime Voting Ban. Now It Gets Complicated.
The measure’s fate likely hinges on this fall’s legislative races: Lawmakers will need to pass it again next year. In the meantime, Glenn Youngkin’s harsh restrictions remain in place.
